The Festival Readings Mechelen 2018
The 9th edition of the Festival Readings will take place in Mechelen, Belgium, 27-29 April 2018, organised in partnership with Festival of Flanders Mechelen - Lunalia (find more about Lunalia here).
Previously held in Sochi, Yerevan, Sibiu and Bari these readings will allow participants to live three days immersed in the world of festivals. They will have the opportunity to meet renowned festival makers sharing their vision and giving a deeper value to the social role of festivals. They can also find out more about Lunalia behind the scenes.
We are delighted to have the following speakers amongst us: Marta Keil (curator, dramatist, researcher, Poland), Eva Neklayeva (Artistic Director Santarcangelofestival, Italy/ Belarus), and Andrea Voets (musician, founder of Resonate Productions - Musical Journalism, The Netherlands). The discussions will be facilitated by Tom Creed (theatre and opera director, Ireland).
During the Festival Readings participants will attend performances programmed by Festival of Flanders Mechelen, Lunalia. The performances will allow encounters with artists – an opportunity to discuss the influence festivals have on their work and the consequences for their artistic path.
The Festival Readings are open to people who have already some experience in the festivals world as well as anyone else who is curious to discover more about festivals.
The Festival Readings Mechelen 2018 is part of the EFA RISE project implemented with the support of the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union.
